Maureen's youngest sister, Beth, is married to my brother Gary. I didn't know Maureen very well in school, but I wanted to honor her memory by sharing her obituary. I know that she is deeply missed by her family.

Maureen Katherine "Mo" Henkelman Gillock

Mo passed away peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the age of 67, in Napa, CA with love by her side. She was born in Modesto, CA on January 30, 1949, to Kenneth John, (Jack), and Beth Ann Henkelman.

Mo primarily resided in the Bay Area, then relocated to Oregon House, CA over 25 years ago, where she became an active and irreplaceable volunteer within the community. She was President of the Dobbins/Oregon House (D/OH) Fire Auxiliary, a dedicated volunteer of the D/OH Thrift Store, and a member of the Board of Directors for Alcouffe Center. Well known for her cooking skills, Mo could usually be found in the kitchen cooking for various fund raisers, as well as working as a caterer, beautician, cook/waitress/bar tender for several restaurants, including Lake Francis Resort. She worked very hard opening Pinole Valley Bowling Lanes.

Mo was always willing to help everyone, which included the rescuing of animals. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a dear friend to many. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Billy Gillock, and is survived by her mother, Beth Armstrong of Napa, son Randy Woith and granddaughter Randee Woith of Washington, her siblings, Kenneth (Nicky), Beth Diana (Gary), Jackie and Charlene Henkelman, a very close cousin, Rene Dumas, niece, Christine Wallace, along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Mo will be missed and forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 16, 2016, at 12 pm, at the Alcouffe Center, 9185 Marysville Road, Oregon House. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the D/OH Fire Auxiliary, PO Box 432, Dobbins, CA 95935.
