Reading the "In Memory" section isn't easy...so many names from the past have passed too early.  In 1967 I immediately left Napa and headed to UC Davis.  Room 129 at Emerson Hall with my roommates Steve Younger, Dave Clerici, and Jim Turconi.  Whew...what memories!  I've kept in touch occasionally with Steve via email and I last saw Dave in Arizona at spring training (he's in Durango running Clerici Construction...probably retired by now), but I lost track of Jim in the late 90's.  He always worked in the food and beverage industry and I knew he had settled in Tahoe.  Hearing of his passing in '09 brought back a flood of memories of our college days together and many adventures I'd best not share here.  He pre-deceased his best high school buddy, Dana Lyon, who shared his love for cars and all things mechanical.  As the class of '67 knows only too well......what a long, strange trip it's been.

Jim...

You always did it your way and never cared what anyone else thought. I loved your explination about the concept of "dynamic stagnation". You should have majored in philosphy. I wish we could go to El Charro for another great dinner. Did you ever invent those "elevator shorts" you used to talk about? You are missed.

I met Jim in the ninth grade at Ridgeview. He had such a great dry sense of humor. I know this because my Bronx accent and clothes str8 outta new york city were often an east target. I never took Jim's kidding seriously, in fact it helped my image as a class clown. I left Napa in '68 compliments of a rich "Uncle" and didn't return permanently until '75 when most of the old gang were relocated or working at MINSY. I often thought about that old crew from back then. Sorry that I won't be kidded by Jim again and spin some tall tales. I hope I make it to the reunuion myself and get to see some of those guys I haven't seen in 50 years. I hope Jim had a good life. Take care old friend.
